Question For Photographers - Concert Photography Pricing (self.freelance)

I shot a local music festival this weekend. I was hired by the company who threw the event to take shots of the live bands. Just out of curiosity what do you charge bands to shoot a live set with minimal editing? I am am mainly a video editor/shooter but I had a ton of fun doing this.

Not sure specifically but I am sure you should have set a price beforehand, afterwards can sometimes go to bad places.

Contract then work! is always the policy for smooth business.

I haven't done this for a while, but I was not very trained/professional and asked for $200-300, depending on travel distance. If you are more confident in your skills, ask for more.

I charge $250 or so per set, depending on the travel and also charged usage for posters, etc.
